We developed a two-year curriculum for The Institute for Arts Entrepreneurship (IAE). Focused on integrating soft skills with hard skill building, our curriculum served over 200 creative entrepreneurs over a 3-year period of time. 97% found new sales and new channels to market. And over 80% are still in business as of 2019.
IAE’s success helping the creative sector brought them recognition by The United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE) and the White House for their innovative education helping under-served entrepreneurs thrive.
Our academic model was published by Elgar Publishing in the Annals of Entrepreneurship Education and Pedagogy in 2014 for USASBE. The White House invited to speak on the first ever creative industries panel at the 6th Annual Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Nairobi, Kenya in 2015
Our educational initiative was published in several other books and journals which include:
• The Value of Creativity: Implications for industrial design and design entrepreneurship. INambisan, S (ed.) Embracing Entrepreneurship Across Disciplines. Northampton, MA: Edward Elgar Publishing.
• Developing the Arts Entrepreneur: The “Learning Cloud”.
